Yulia Maluta is a professional dance instructor, she is currently spearheading a new non-profit, Transforming Arts.

LISA BIGGS
We are pleased to welcome Lisa Biggs to the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North.
Lisa is the Director of Outreach for FUSION ACADEMY. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from UC Riverside. She studied at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, as well as programs in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and Siena, Tuscany, Italy. She earned her certificate to teach through Trinty College in London.
Lisa started a non-profit that teaches Social-Emotional Learning through storytelling which helped local children struggling with PTSD after the 2017 Thomas Fire. Lisa is British and speaks six languages.

Mike Bergquist, President of the Rotary Club Santa Barbara North Charitable Foundation announced that grant applications are due November 30.
Cathy Calabro announced the Mary Kay 17th Annual Adopt-A-Grandparent Program. Your gift of $25 will provide a Christmas stocking for 96 residents of Garden Court on de la Vina Street.
Cathy Calabro invites all Rotarians to the Santa Barbara Master Chorale Holiday Lights musical celebration on Sunday, December 10th at 3:00pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montecito.

Joe Dobbs pledged $90 Mega Bucks in honor of his 90th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!
Gil Garcia pledged a Mega Buck because he won a “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) costume in Puerto Vallarta.
GUEST SPEAKER – WADE NOMURA
Wade Nomura has been an active Rotarian for 19 years. He has spoken in 15 different countries, presenting to over 200,000 people and has made over 50 international project trips. He currently serves as one of only 24 Rotary Cadre Technical Coordinators worldwide, requiring oversight of major project in water, sanitation, and community and economic development, undertaken through The Rotary Foundation, which invests 250 million into humanitarian efforts every year. Wade has also served as the Rotary International President’s Representative the past seven years, in Texas, Michigan, Virginia, Florida, Maryland, Alabama and Mexico.
As a child Wade was a polio victim, thus his passion for Rotary Plus and the elimination of polio worldwide. He went over the importance of Paul Harris club recognition, pointing out that our own Rotary Club member Terry Straehley has over 17,651 Foundation Recognition points available and is the only club member that has reached PHF+8 current PHF Level.

PLEASE bring an auction item worth at least $50. If you choose not to bring an item you will be charged $50 on your next Rotary invoice.
