Introduction of Visiting Guest: John Guardine, guest and neighbor of Jim Lisi. Council member Oscar Gutierrez was also in attendance.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Jim Lisi, President Elect is asking for volunteers to head the Membership Committee, Vocational Committee, Youth Committee and Foundation Chair.
Gil Garcia first thanked Rotarians that attended the Santa Barbara/Puerto Sister City dinner at the Mental Wellness Center, raising over $6,000 for programs at the Center. He also announced that another fundraiser for the Friendship Center on Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 PM, this will also be a fundraiser for this community organization.
Cathy Calabro announced that the Mental Wellness Center “Peace of Mind” walk at the Alma Rosa Winery this Saturday, May 17, starting at 9:00 AM.
Jacqueline Duran had an update on the San Marcos Interact Rotary Club. The Club has been collecting men’s clothing to donation to the Mental Wellness Center. The Montecito YMCA was the collection place for people to drop-off their clothing donations. The clothing will be delivered today (May 14th).
Jacqueline Duran invites you to the latest off-Broadway play at Santa Marcos High School theatre “Urinetown: The Musical”. The show runs on May 15, 16 & 17 at 7 pm. Her son Bradley is one of the cast members.
Cathy Calabro invites you to the Santa Barbara Master Chorale concert at the at the Santa Barbara Presbyterian Church on May 17 & 18th, featuring Time” Choral Masterworks through the Ages.

Anthony Clark pledged a Mega Buck in honor of his 2nd child being born 3 weeks ago.
Jim Lisi pledged a Mega Buck honoring his daughter Katelyn for making the 2nd team all-conference women’s softball team at Santa Barbara City College.
Phil Palmquist pledged a Mega Buck celebrating his 70th birthday.
Jacqueline Duran pledged a Mega Buck to celebrate her May 18th birthday.
Kim Bish pledged a Mega Buck announcing “once a Santa Barbara High School Don, always a Don” . . . The Boys Volleyball advances to CIF D4 Championship, they will face off against Sage Hill this weekend at 3:00 PM.
Gil Garcia pledged a Mega Buck because his wife (Marti Correa de Garcia) is finally walking with a boot since she broke her ankle.
John Engstrom pledged a Mega Buck in honor of his grandson graduating from UCSB.
John Holehouse pledged a Mega Buck in honor of his 7-year-old grandson making the baseball Allstar Mini-Minors team.
Cathy Calabro pledged a Mega Buck in honor of her recent Mary Kay event raising about $1,200.00 for the Domestic Violence organization supported by the Mary Kay - Ashley Foundation.
OPPORTUNITY DRAWING
The Berry Man vegetable/fruit gift card was won by Lisa Gosdschan. Guest John Guardine had the opportunity to pick the “red” marble, but with no luck picked a white marble.
