Of the things we think, say, or do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?

Dr. Young asked for questions:
  • Mask – cloth mask are not good, he suggests wearing N95 mask. Wearing a mask gives you more protection from getting the virus and/or giving it to someone else if you have the virus. Be respectful to other people by wearing a mask.
  • Where can you purchase these masks? Drug Stores, Amazon, Wal-Mart
  • Explain the new Variant? If you are vaccinated the Omicron variant will not be as bad, 95% of people in the ICU have not been vaccinated.
  • What is the difference between PCR test or a home test? PCR is more sensitive. The County of Santa Barbara will be sending out free home test, you must apply on their website (COVIDTests.gov), four per household.
P R O G R A M
SPEAKER – ROBERT BENHAM

Robert was born in Tennessee and went to Vandenberg University to get his law degree . He was in private practice for many years in Memphis, Tenn. He was appointed to a judge ship and served two terms. He and his wife moved to Santa Barbara about 5 years ago.

Mr. Benham gave an interesting power-point presentation on the weeks prior to the assassination of Martin L. King in Memphis on April 4, 1968, at the age of 39.
The Memphis sanitation strike began on February 12, 1968, in response to the deaths of sanitation workers Echol Cole and Robert Walker. 1,300 black sanitation workers demanded better working conditions and higher pay. It became increasingly evident that this was a racial incident. Their stand marked an early fight for financial justice for workers of color as part of the civil rights movement. The Memphis sanitation strike prompted Martin Luther King Jr’s presence, where he famously gave the “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech a day before his assassination.
