Del Hegland – Montecito Rotary (announced an event: Pints for Polio (pintsforpoliosb.com) Tues. 10/24/2017 5 to 8 PM. A 2-1 match by the Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation was indicated but a recent email from the Montecito Rotary states monies will be tripled.

Ken Oplinger announced the Chamber networking mixer at the Zoo on 10/27/2017 at 7:30 AM.

Jill Marie Carre – of Chocolats du Cali Bressan
Jill spoke about the business she and her husband, Jean Michel began in France over 16 years ago.  Jean Michel was always made chocolate as a restauranteur and moved to an old vacant building in France to begin a chocolate factory. They have been married 30 years and relocated to Carpinteria to start their new factory here.
2 very important criteria for making chocolate successfully:
1)The “tempering” of the chocolate. If a mistake is made, 3 days of work is lost
2)The molds are critical to the process and must be cleaned and “cottoned”
They do “logo” chocolates for businesses as well as sell retail at their 2 locations.
