FUN FACT:
Where Blaksley Library now sits was a cottage, one of the original buildings at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. It began life in 1926 as a Sears Roebuck kit that was built on site. It was moved to its present location in 1941 to make room for the new building. It was used as the caretakers cottage from 1926 to 1990 when it was renovated.
SELF-GUIDED WALK:
Stay after the regularly scheduled meeting for a walk around the gardens, taking in the beauty of nature, observe some of its treasures such as the Indian Steps and the Mission Dam and Aqueduct, a registsered California State Historic Landmark built in the early 1800s. A map of the Garden is attached for your perusal.
