Nordhoff High School Senior Aidan McPherson-Dike received the Student of the Month honor for March 2024 at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Ojai West. Aiden's mother Amber and his grandmother Julie McPherson attended the ceremony. Presenter Jim Halverson noted that Aiden's grandfather, Pat McPherson, was a member of our Club. Aiden was nominated for this award by his autoshop teacher Mr. Fender. Fender nominated him because he is an over achiever with so many of his courses, including coming in early to get better at welding. He also participates in basketball, and overall is very motivating and a leader in the classroom. He hopes to go to Cal Poly in Agriculture Business.

The Rotary Foundation has received the highest possible score from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S. In the most recent ratings, released on 1 September, The Rotary Foundation earned the maximum 100 points for both financial health and accountability and transparency. The ratings reflect how efficiently Charity Navigator believes the Foundation will use donations, how well it has sustained programs and services, and its level of commitment to good governance and openness. In the previous rating, the Foundation had received 97 points.
