Nordhoff Senior Sadie Vicks and her mother Jenny
The first Student of the Month award was made Tuesday September 26 by Dr. Jim Halverson at the Rotary Club of Ojai West to Nordhoff Senior Sadie Vick a lifelong resident of the Ojai Valley. Francine Nelson, one of her teachers at NHS who also runs the Ojai Youth Foundation, nominated Sadie for her excellent study skills and motivation in her academic work. Sadie is a member of the Rowing Team at Lake Casitas and competes on teams throughout the State. She also has been a committed member of the Girls Empowerment Program both at Matilija and Nordhoff and attributes her confidence and communication skills to her involvement and training in that program.
