ROTARY CLUB OF MONTECITO PRESENTS DICTIONARIES TO ADELANTE CHARTER SCHOOL THIRD GRADERS

Last Wednesday, November 13, 2013, found fellow Rotarians Carol Shabrami, Mark Magid, Robert Mislang and Lynda Nahra of the Montecito Club visiting Adelante Charter School in Santa Barbara on a mission to deliver illustrated dictionaries to the Third Grade class. The engagement and excitement of the student recipients (aka "scholars") was a tangible benefit to the Rotarians presenting the dictionaries. Additionally, the third grade teachers, Mayra Curiel and Erika Ruiz Santillan, appreciated the time and involvement our local Rotarians took to both deliver the dictionaries and then provide insight into the value of these books and what Rotary is about. Thank you to Carol, Mark, Robert, and Lynda for their time and commitment to making this Third Grade class all the better through dictionaries they will use for their educational journey.

We had so much fun distributing the Scholastic Picture dictionaries to your delightful kids! The expressions of joy on their faces when they realized that they would actually get to take a dictionary home with their name on it were unforgettable! They were super active participants in the dictionary practice exercises with Mark and in the Q&A throughout.

Thank you for allowing the Montecito Rotary Club members to visit your classrooms. The children are lucky to have such dedicated and fun‐loving teachers to inspire them and provide outstanding role models!
