President's Message
Dear friends,

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the many organizations in Santa Barbara that provide needed services to the community.

This coming Tuesday we’ll see how our Rotary Club supports a diverse group of neighbors;
we will honor 13 fine local organizations with grant awards of $1,000 (see list of grant recipients at left). We'll hear briefly from each about their area of service and how grant funds will be used. Please join me in celebrating their contributions to our community.

We have a surprise or two planned for December, so stay tuned for more details after our cherished Thanksgiving holiday.

See you Tuesday,

Thanks to all who supported the Santa Barbara Rotaractors in their Walk to End Alzheimer's.

About a dozen walkers turned out despite threatening skies and together we raised $2,650 for the fight to end Alzheimer's.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people & organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Sound familiar?  Please consider advancing the work of Rotary and meeting our District 5240 Challenge by making a donation to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund on Giving Tuesday, Deccember 1, 2020.

$52.40 Annual Fund Challenge!

District 5240 is challenging all Rotary Clubs in the district to raise $52.40 per member to support the Rotary International Annual Fund.

Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Rotary take action today to create positive change in communities at home and around the world. Contributions are transformed into grants that help strengthen peace efforts, provide clean water and sanitation, support education, grow local economies, save mothers and children, and fight disease.

All monies donated to the RI Annual Fund earn you Paul Harris points, and the Club is offering matching points for every dollar donated up to $500.  So if you give $100 to the Annual Fund, you'll receive 100 Paul Harris points from RI and an additional 100 points from the Club.

Please step up to the challenge and donate today at:

Note:  You must sign in to the Rotary International website to ensure proper credit for the donation.  Don't know how to sign in?  Contact Bernadette for assistance.
