Geoff came to Santa Barbara in 1990 as a UCSB student and found his passion in campus and community organizations working for social justice and environmental health.
He served as Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Fund from 2003 to 2015, during which time the organization tripled in size, built new partnerships, and launched the Youth Making Change program. Geoff is currently CEO of the SBCC Foundation and has led the effort to establish the SBCC Promise.
Geoff is familar to our club for his help coordinating our annual SBCC Career Technical scholarships. His Rotary credentials include being honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North in 2006.
We are excited to finally get to meet in person again as a Rotary Club. The Music Academy is an amazing venue, and we believe it will help us attract new members to our Club.
We are going to rotate using local restaurants to provide great lunches with a lot of variety.
Anita also has some exciting hands-on community service projects lined up for the next few months.
I look forward to seeing you in person on Tuesday.

In-Person Meetings are Back!
Starting this Tuesday, October 5th, we'll be meeting in person at the Music Academy of the West, 1070 Channel Drive.
Grab your mask, invite a friend, and join us at the Music Academy for food, fellowship, and a fascinating program.
Free parking is available in both the upper and lower lots. Lunch will be outdoors on the patio; program will follow indoors in the auditorium.
We will adhere to all COVID protocols required by the Music Academy of the West:
only fully vaccinated people can attend
masks must be worn indoors at all times (regardless of vaccination status)
Each year the Rotary Club of Montecito Foundation awards community grants to qualifying Santa Barbara County non-profit organizations. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $1,600.
Details and the online application form can be found on our club website at www.montecitorotary.org.
If you are involved with a nonprofit that has unmet needs, please encourage them to apply for a grant. But hurry, because the deadline for applications is this Friday, October 8th.
