Esnart Sikanda, secondary school student at the Grace Centre in Zambia By partnering with other local Rotary clubs, we increase the international impact of our Club. The Grace Centre in Zambia is a case in point. The Rotary Club of Ventura sponsored their first ever Global Grant to help establish the Grace Centre in Kazungula, Zambia. Kazungula is an impoverished town on the border of Zambia and Botswana. With no source of income in their families, many girls and young women of Kazungula become victims of sexual abuse. The Grace Centre was established to remedy this situation. It provides counseling, training in tailoring, computer work, and food preparation, and in select cases, funds for secondary school education. Our club joined in supporting this Global Grant, and our funds provided a secondary education scholarship for Esnart Sikanda, pictured above.
