Service & Social

This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is everywhere — on every sidewalk, track and trail — with small teams instead of a large in-person gathering.

The Santa Barbara Rotaract Club has organized a team and is inviting all local Rotarians to join.

Let's show our support for the SB Rotaractors!  Click here to join the team or donate to the cause.
There are ongoing opportunities to volunteer at our local food bank, with shifts available for driving/delivery, sorting and packing.

The Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade is looking for vounteers to assist in multiple activities designed to help our community through the COVID-19 crisis.

President's Message
Dear friends,

We are one week away from the World Polio Day Celebration on Saturday, October 24th, and we are doing so well with our Step Up to Take Down Polio donations. As of 5 PM on October 17th, we've raised over $4,185 with the help of 23 club members and their friends. We're now at 62% participation. If you haven't yet made a gift, please help us achieve our 100% participation goal by October 31.

Note:   To make sure your donation is properly recorded, use the email address associated with your Rotary International account.

Our virtual World Polio Day celebration is happening Saturday, Oct 24th at 4 PM.

Hosted by the Santa Barbara area Rotary & Rotaract clubs, the celebration features keynote speaker Craig Needham.  Craig, an attorney in San Jose, will share the unique & moving story of being raised by his mother while she was confined to an iron lung after being paralyzed by polio at age 29.

This inspiring event is not to be missed.  It's FREE to attend, but you must click here to preregister.

Peter & I will be distributing FREE 16 oz. Pints for Polio glasses before the event.

Please stop by our home prior to the celebration on Oct 24, from 2-3pm. We’ll be masked and waiting for you safely outdoors, and abiding by appropriate Covid protocols. And we’ll have apple cider and home-made cinnamon donut holes waiting for you! More details to follow in an email.

See you Tuesday,

Jennifer Goddard & team are doing a fantastic job alerting the public to our upcoming World Polio Day events.  Follow the links below to see articles in two local publications:
