Tile permanently installed at Santa Barbara City College to recognize our Club's scholarship support On April 21st we met at the John Dunn Dining Room on the Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) campus to celebrate the achievements of our 2026 vocational and technical career scholarship recipients. The stories told by the recipients, SBCC faculty, and our own President Sese and Foundation President Kim reminded us of the impact Rotary scholarships have made and will continue to make in this community. It was particularly inspiring to hear how many attendees had been touched by Rotary over the years and how much our motto of Service Above Self resonated in current times. In total, seventeen scholarships were granted - a new record! Special thanks to scholarships provided directly by Kati and Peter Buehler; Cathy Cash and Bruce McRoy; Julie and Roger Davis; Lora and Tom Fisher; Todd and Allyson Aldrich, Susan and Rod Hersberger; Lynda Nahra and Claude Dorais; Debbie Merlo, Bob Ruccione and Kim Stone; Kerry Murray; and Bernadette Bagley. And thank to all Club members for the additional six scholarships funded by our Club as a whole and one more in recognition of Martin and Julia Koobation.
