This week our guest speaker is Steve Ortiz, CEO of the United Way of Santa Barbara. We look forward to Steve’s update on all the great work the United Way continues to do in our Community.
We have some great events lined up for the next few months including a visit from our District Governor, Dana and our SBCC Awards luncheon on the Campus.
A special thanks to Tony, our President-Elect, on running last weeks meeting. Tony has been a tremendous help and is currently heading up our President-Elect Nominee search.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Music Academy on Tuesday.

Happy hour on State St. at Blackbird Restaurant
Social Scheduled for Feb. 22nd
By popular demand, we've relocated our February social to the Blackbird Restaurant at 36 State Street (in the California Hotel, just steps from the Funk Zone). Join us there on Tuesday, February 22nd, for cocktails and light bites in an outdoor setting with excellent people watching.
Festivities begin at 5:00 pm and end when the last Rotarian leaves the patio.
Ashley Mayfield, Montecito Trails Foundation President, addressing the club at our last meeting.
Thanks to Tony for arranging a very engaging speaker for our last meeting. Ashley provided a brief history of the Montecito trails, gave an update on repairs required after the mud flow, and answered questions about ongoing trail maintenance.
Note: We continue to experiment with ways to meet in person while maintaining safe practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Last meeting we conducted our program al fresco
on the patio of the Music Academy of the West. We'll do the same for our next meeting, and re-evaluate as county recommendations change.
Situated in different parts of the world, the Rotary Peace Centers offer tailor-made curricula to train individuals devoted to peacebuilding and conflict resolution — no matter where they land.
