President's Message
Dear Fellow Rotarians,

We may have had our share of heavy downpours lately, but it's not raining on the Rotary parade! We've had some fascinating speakers visit our club, including Brad Bennett, the founder and CEO of Pacific Pickle Works, who spoke at our last gathering. Next up is best-selling author Fannie Flagg, who will share stories and anecdotes of her career and writing process.

The social calendar is going strong too. Later this month, Bernadette will host a Game Night at her home in the Mesa on Thursday, March 30. We'll hear details at Tuesday's meeting.

Finally, mark your calendars for one of the most anticipated club events of the year: the annual Santa Barbara City College student scholarships luncheon on Tuesday, April 18.

Back to the rain, we do have a backup plan to have our entire lunch/meeting inside the Main House of the Music Academy if showers are expected next Tuesday.

Yours in Service,
Tony

Brad Bennett, Pacific Pickle Works

Our March 7th meeting was a lesson in small business economics. Brad Bennett, the "Principal Pickle" at Pacific Pickle Works, explained the origins of his business, the challenges of marketing a niche product, and the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on businesses everywhere.

Brad supplied pickles for our lunch and brought samples of product and merchandise to be auctioned off to lucky Rotarians, with all proceed going to support club activities.

Kudos to the Speakers Committee for continuing to schedule such interesting guests.
