Sese Ntem is the newest member of the Rotary Club of Montecito. Read the interview below to learn more about Sese.
Please tell the Club a little bit about your life: where you were born and grew up, how you met your spouse, etc.
I immigrated 24 years ago to the United States from Togo (West Africa) with the goal of achieving my educational dreams. I attended Santa Barbara City College and went on to UC Santa Barbara where I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Global and International Studies (class of 2009).
I met my wife 17 years ago while we both were working at the Biltmore hotel. We dated on and off until we got married in Los Olivos in 2005. We have two beautiful young children: our son Noah (6) and our daughter Madison (4).
I also have a brother and two (2) sisters. Our parents are no longer with us. My brother remains in Togo with his family, while both my sisters are in Boston with their respective ones.
Please tell us about your work - what you do, how long you've been doing it, and what you find interesting and satisfying about it.
I’m a licensed residential mortgage lender and a member of the Kelly Marsh Team at Cornerstone Home Lending. We specialize in conforming and non-conforming loan programs, refinancing, and more. I am licensed throughout our great state of California, and I enjoy helping my clients achieve the dream of homeownership.
Please share a couple of other things about yourself that you think we would find interesting and may not know about you.
I grew up listening and playing music. I am a professional drummer and lead a local drumming group specializing in polyrhythmic beats. I also help provide school supplies to kids and teachers in need in remote areas of the country of Togo. I enjoy international travel, cooking and watching a great soccer game.
