We'll be rolling up our sleeves and helping to keep our local community gem, the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens, beautiful for all.

We'll be gardening from 9 AM to noon alongside horticulture staff who will provide us with gloves and tools.

And if the timing is right, we may be able to help with a restoration project in Mission Creek above the Garden.

Please register here so that we can let the staff know how many people to expect.

Hope to see you there!

President's Message
Fellow Rotarians,

I am very proud that we had so many members step up and volunteer for the recent election.

Let's all thank the 13 volunteers who went through a two-hour training class and volunteered at least three hours (several did multiple shifts) on election day: Kati and Peter Buehler, Anita and Jason Blakemore, Cathy Cash and Bruce McRoy Cindy Davis (wife of new member Steve), Liz Westwick, Eryn Shugart, Jeff Kerns, Harlan Green, Tony Morris, and
myself.

The Club earned $600 which covers venue rental cost for three meetings at the Music Academy of the West.

Speaking of the Music Academy, we are all excited for our first in-person meeting on October 5th at the Music Academy.  Geoff Green, President of the Santa Barbara City College Foundation will give us an update on the foundation, the great work they do, and the recent (very large) gift they received from McKenzie Scott.  We will be sending around a "meal sign-up" for this meeting with at least three very nice choices for lunch.

See you Tuesday - Tom
