My experiences as Senior CIA Advisor to three former U.S. presidents

Thanks to Club member Paul Kremser, our speaker Andy Liepman will share his experiences as a senior CIA official and advisor to three former U.S. presidents.

In Andy's words, "I managed to be the proverbial fly on the wall during President Clinton’s efforts on the Middle East peace process, President Bush’s Iraq war, and President Obama’s raid on Osama bin Laden in Pakistan."  Andy is now retired and living in Santa Barbara and especially enjoys being the current SB Zoo train engineer.

President's Message
Fellow Rotarians,

During the month of November, we celebrate the Rotary Foundation (TRF).  The Foundation was started in 1917 when outgoing Rotary President Arch Klumph proposed setting up an endowment "for the purpose of doing good in the world."

The Foundation has done amazing work over the past 100 plus years, and the initial contribution of $26.50 has grown to fund over $4 billion in life changing and sustainable projects.

We encourage all members to support the Rotary Foundation on a regular basis.  The Club will once again offer to match any dollars given to the Rotary Foundation during the months of November and December with points to get the Member to their next Paul Harris Fellow level. (Click here to donate online.)

And on the local level ... in two weeks, our own Rotary Club of Montecito Foundation will award Community Grants to 15 very worth local charities.  A representative from each charity will attend our meeting to receive their award and provide us with a brief update of the work they are doing in our community.

Please mark your calendars for this very special event on November 16th at the Music Academy of the West.  Please plan on arriving early as we will have a full program.

Catering for Club Meetings
Greek salad from Montecito Deli & Catering.

Lunch for our November 2nd meeting will be catered by Montecito Deli & Catering.  They'll supply a selection of wraps (tri-tip, chicken, and veggie) as well as their famous Greek salad.

By rotating our lunch order among a variety of local restaurants, we hope to provide the restaurants with financial support while building awareness of our Club and the work we do in the community.

If you have a restaurant you'd like us to consider, please send your suggestion to President Tom Fisher or Social Committee co-chairs Anita Blakemore and Liz Westwick.
