 Montecito Rotary
President's  Message
Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I thoroughly enjoyed last week’s meeting, highlighted by the lively presentation from Mayor Randy Rowse. A special thank you to Shelter Box for graciously providing us with a lovely space for our meeting.

This past weekend was particularly meaningful, as Rotarians from across Central and Southern California gathered at Validation Ale in the Funk Zone to celebrate World Peace Day. This event also marked the final journey of the three Peace Batons, which had been circulating among clubs throughout our district.

Just two days later, I found myself back in the Funk Zone, this time at Pearl Social Club—a charming venue attached to The Lark, my favorite local restaurant. Cathy Cash organized a fun and well-attended happy hour for our club. A heartfelt thank you to Cathy for putting it together!

As we step into the next quarter, I encourage each of you to reflect on what Rotary means to you and how you can deepen your engagement. Whether it’s attending meetings, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about our work, every effort adds to the vibrancy of our club. For those interested in taking on a more active role, a few leadership positions are currently available—please reach out to me if you’d like to learn more.

Looking several weeks ahead, we have Montecito Beautification Day coming up on Saturday, November 2nd. I encourage all of you to make time for this important service project. A strong showing of Rotarians would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our club’s commitment and presence in the community.

The months ahead are full of exciting ways to engage in service and fellowship. Let’s keep our momentum going and continue to make this Rotary year one to remember!

Yours in Service - Kim

Final Leg of the District 5240 PeaceBuilder Relay
Sheila Hess from the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning presents Peace Baton to President Kim Stone

The Rotary District 5240 PeaceBuilder Relay is an initiative to symbolize and foster unity, peace, and collaboration among the clubs within the district.

For weeks, the peace baton has been traveling through the Rotary clubs in District 5240.  At our September 17th it was delivered from the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning to our Rotary Club of Montecito.  As the baton passed hand to hand among our members we shared in the heartfelt connection among all Rotary clubs, their communities, and their passionate commitment to sharing the bonds of peace.
