Santa Barbara City Update

Randy Rowse came to Santa Barbara in 1972 to attend UCSB as an Environmental Studies major, and never left.

As owner/operator of the Paradise Café he was active in community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, The Downtown Organization, Hospitality Santa Barbara and the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

Randy served as a City Councilmember from 2010-2019, and was sworn in as the 51st Mayor of Santa Barbara on January 11, 2022.

He and his wife Janet live in the same house on the Mesa where they’ve spent the past 36 years and raised two children.  Throughout all these years, his passion for the vibrancy of our downtown and the natural elements of our beautiful city has not diminished.
