Ikpem (E-BEEM) Nigeria --- A Water Well System

We join with Rotary International, Rotary District 5240, Downtown Bakersfield Rotary and the Rotary Club in Okigwe, Nigeria to implement a water system project in Ikpem, a community of 5,000 in southeastern Nigeria. This project will change their lives. People must walk seven miles to get their water. Families will spend nearly 25% of their lives in getting their water. So many more health benefits come from drinking clean water. Join us, we are looking for people like you, businesses, and organizations to support this effort. Our goal is to raise $15,000 in our community. We now have a commitment of matching funds for this project of $20,000 from Rotary International. You will change lives by supporting this effort. The walk/run will begin at 7:30AM and a BBQ sponsored by the Knights of Columbus will follow at a modest cost with the proceeds benefiting the project.
