We had a wonderful  Vocational Visit to the SLO Regional Airport on April 25th.  We started with lunch at Sprirt of SLO and walked over to the airport where we were greeted by Craig Piper, a manager at the airport.  We started in a classroom and learned that room is also set up to be the center for emergency services if the need ever arrives.  After signing in and being issued visitor badges  our tour started.  Right now the airport has 3 airlines, but can expand to 6.  On the wall at the entrance are parts of a real aircraft taken from an aircraft in  Mohave,  The information desk is also made from an aircraft.   Once we entered the secure area we were told about  the outside courtyard area, which was designed with showcasing our county.  There are 7 rock s for the 7 peaks, blue tile for the ocean and even a pet potty area.   Once back inside at the gate area there is a snack shop, you can even get yourself a cocktail is desired.  The drinking fountains have bottle refill stations.   There are 2 gangways made of glass,  we are 1 of 3 airports with this type.  One of the gangways goes lower to higher, which is the only one of its kind.  There is room to add additional gates as we grow.
