This Week's Presentation

Adam Babcock, Pastor

Cambria Vineyard Church

Adam told us that his family roots are in San Luis Obispo, but he grew up in the Bay Area.  He has lived all over the United States, serving churches and communities.  He was a Pastor in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for five years before moving his wife, Leslie, and their two daughters and son to Cambria in 2004.  Adam told us about the many wonderful things that are happening at Vineyard.  We were pleased to present Adam with a check for $1,000 for their Food Ministry, along with food donated by members.  You can view his slideshow at Rotary.pptx.

Announcements

Pres. Andrew welcomed us an announced that today was his hero, Jim Hensen's, birthday as well as his godmother, Betty Nash's birthday.

The Prez also told us that we would be having a co-meeting with Cayucos Rotary on Thursday, Oct. 16th at Lunada Bistro in Cayucos.  A dinner menu will be sent out shortly.

Andrew also told us that Miguel will be gone for the next 2 weeks and asked if anyone would be willing to run the slideshows during his absence.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION:  Katherine Gillen was sworn in as our newest member.  Katherine told us that she has three grown children and is currently Director of Membership and Marketing at the Chamber.  Katherine is looking forward to becoming involved.  Welcome Katherine.

5K Walk/Run to End Polio:  We were joined via Zoom by Jim Lewis, fellow Rotarian and strong advocate for End Polio.  Jim contracted the disease at a very early age and spent months in the hospital in an iron lung, unable to see his parents or brother.  It was a compelling story and one that should be encouraging each of us to participate in or donate to the October 11 5K Walk/Run to End Polio.

CALL FOR PEOPLE OF ACTION!
