Pres. Andrew welcomed us and announced that, on this day in 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth in the spacecraft Friendship 7. 

The Prez emphasized the importance of increasing club membership and participation, highlighting the "March into Membership" campaign and incentivizing members to bring guests. 

Environmental Committee:  Our newest Avenue of Service, led by Miguel Sandoval, is asking for environmental project ideas for the committee to consider.

VIVA:  Please continue to sell Grand Raffle tickets and encourage friends and neighbors to attend our Viva event.  Proceeds will benefit our Avenues of Service for the 2026-27 Rotary year.

Youth Service Chair, Juli Amodei, highlighted the achievements and ongoing projects of the youth services team, including Interact's fundraising efforts and a new technical assistance program in collaboration with the Cambria Community Scholarship Foundation. She also discussed Ryla's success with 7 students participating, mentioning the team's efforts in managing registration and transportation costs. Cambria shared details about a recent BMX event at the grammar school, which was well-received by the community.  She also highlighted the completion of the Leadership Lounge at the middle school and discussed the progress on the sensory room at the grammar school, which received a $5,000 donation from Rotary and individual Rotarians. She also mentioned the ongoing work on the Four-Way Test project, which has received over 40 applications, and the collaboration with the Cambria Community Scholarship Foundation for the Tech Track program. Additionally, the committee approved funding for a new disc golf program at the middle school and designated funds for a scholarship program for Cambrian or San Simeon students attending Camp Ocean Pines. Cambria encouraged community members to reach out with potential funding opportunities and expressed support for Rotaract at Cal Poly, led by Adair.
