Bakersfield East Rotary Club Reader Program
One of the most gratifying projects Bakersfield East Rotarians participate in is the reading program for 3rd graders at local elementary schools. Reading skills are markedly improved for these students by the weekly one on one sessions with a Rotarian. Rotary members commit to provide one hour a week during the school year to listen to those readers and help them not only read out loud but to comprehend what they have read. For more information contact Julie Womack (618)292-1666 to see how you can get involved.
