PROGRAM
Stephanie Sievers is fairly new to Bakersfield, joining us in 2021 to serve as CEO for AltaOne Federal Credit Union. Before coming here with her family, which includes four children (8, 10, 12, 14), she worked at credit unions in Texas for over a decade. Today, she focuses on connected AltaOne with business and civic organizations in Kern County, while following the mission to “improve the inequalities that exist in income, wealth, and access to financial solutions.”
AltaOne focuses that mission on “financial deserts” of Kern County, small towns with 25,000 people or so with no other financial institutions available to help them. In addition, AltaOne prides itself on its partnerships with nonprofits, including CAPK and VITA, as well as business lending and SBA loan options. New this year: Co-Op ATMs that allow members to use over 30,000 ATMs and 5,000 branches starting in October without fees. AltaOne also offers educational courses through its webinars. Find them all at altaone.org/webinars.
