Some other facts shared:
The BSO was founded in 1932 and after taking a hiatus for the war, it reconvened in 1947.
The BSO has a strong outreach program for students. It's been proven that being involved in music helps children perform well in school.
The difference between a "Band" and an "Orchestra" is the addition of stringed instruments.
Music has been proven to help people heal. The BSO and Dignity Health have partnered in such a program where volunteer musicians perform for long term hospital patients.
One third of the money that funds the BSO comes from ticket sales. The rest from sponsorships- so SUPPORT THE ARTS!
