Garro's Demotion Day
Once again, the time has come to say goodbye to another fine President of the Downtown Rotary Club.
Ben Taft,
Jim Damian,
Ray Watson and
Mike Willis overcame several technical issues and managed to have a pretty funny presentation. A video produced by Willis had some great short bits with Cameos from
Andrae Gonzales,
Kathy Abernathy,
Ray Watson Sr.,
Kristen Beall, and
The MoneyWise Guys. Ben, Ray, and Jim had us laughing at Garro's expense. The zingers coming in fast and furious. Everything from investing in a ski resort with no snow to his famous mullet. Of course, Garro took it all in stride- he, like everyone else in the club, knows, he did a great job as president and we thank him for it!
We had a record number of attendees with over 60 members tuning in. I think these photos sum up the presentation:
Good News Announcements:
Garro announced he bought an RV and is headed to a survival bunker in somewhere in Wyoming with his family, including his grandkids. Good luck with that!
Pat Collins pointed out that Garro was predestined for his role as president during a pandemic. He handled it with the natural talent of a lifelong germaphobe.
Kurt Wingate announced that his daughter was recently married to a Marine. Congratulations!
Girish Patel gave another blatant plug for his golf course and soon-to-be-reopened restaurant, Tavern at Sundale.
Speaking of reopenings, Nik Boone announced that he and a couple of others bought the event venue, Hathaway Ranch, and are accepting reservations.
Mike McCoy asked for our thoughts and prayers for Eddy Paine's speedy recovery after his recent back surgery. (Despite it all, Eddy attended the demotion today, looking as feral as ever.)
