This week's featured featured "How's Business" segment featured Chief Deputy District Attorney, Mark Pafford. He gave us a quick glimpse into his typical day at the District Attorney's Office. One or President Ray's questions was "What's a good day at the office like?" Which he replied as "One where no one comes into his office complaining about someone was mean to them."
Program
This week we hosted the recipients of the Waterman Foundation scholarship grants. Each student received a $2000 scholarship. These scholarships are based on merit and needs. Kristin Beall, who chaired the committee, told us a little about each student.
The Bakersfield Rotarian Waterman Foundation was established in 1984 to provide consistent funding for charitable grants, capital projects, and scholarships.
It is largely funded by a voluntary contribution of $15 from each member. Also memorials and bequests and investment earnings.
To date we have awarded over $1,000,000 in community grants and almost $500,000 in scholarships to CSUB, BC and BHS.
By the sound of it, all of these students have a bright future ahead of them. The recipients are as follows:
