David Milazzo: 3rd Annual Bakersfield Marathon
Milazzo is a trained actor and became the only certified Apple technician in Bakersfield with his business Macroscopic. He's also the Co- Founder of the Active Bakersfield Alliance. After running the marathon in New York City back in 1999, Milazzo saw the marathon as an opportunity to showcase the city of Bakersfield and combat a negative image problem.
In 2016 Milazzo and Charles Brown introduced the Bakersfield Marathon. 1850 runners from 18 different states participated in the event which includes a 26 mile, half marathon and 5k runs.
This year a Health Expo will take place on Saturday November 17 with the 2018 Bakersfield Marathon starting on Sunday November 18. Registration opens online on October 10.
