Program:
Today’s program was presented by Dr. Jorge Enrique of CSF Medical Non-Profit Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. CSF Foundation helps low-income families in need to receive life-changing surgery or disease prevention that would otherwise be out of their reach due to financial resources and/or other multiple causes. CSF Foundation pays the total or partial cost of surgery and provides a discounted fee arrangement for other services.
CSF bridges the gap between low-income individuals who do not qualify or cannot afford health insurance, and medical and surgical services institutions, thereby changing and saving lives. There are over three-million uninsured in California, 64,000 in Kern County, most of which are too young for Medicare, too rich for MediCal, or too poor to afford private insurance.
CSF Foundation obtains proceeds from fundraising events, private donations, and community support. 80% of donations are used in local patients, and 20% of donations go to other counties.
