Good News Announcements:

1) Jim Damian invited all Club Members to check out the Amazing Race fliers on the tables.
2) Sheryl Barbich announced the new happenings at the Kern County Museum. A new lecture series on the County’s History and New Children’s programs.
3) Dr. Horrace Mitchell brought back a Rotary flag from the Bahamas. He exchanged our Club’s flag and said he had a great time.
4) Garro Ellis Gave a Waterman Grant update and encouraged the club to get their applications in quickly.

President Roach Introduced Jeff Green who took the podium and explained the rules of the First Ever Rotary Club of Bakersfield TRIVIA Game!
 
Jeff then introduced Doug Pierce the Principle & Managing Partner of the famed Pierce CPA Firm. Mr Pierce has kept the trivia questions under lock and key in the trunk of his Yugo, or something, to ensure their confidentiality. Each envelope had 25 questions to be opened and answered under strict supervision by the Trivia Marshals Ellis and Guiterrez.
 
Game Show Host Green then introduced Dr. Larry Reider for a quick lesson in Ethics. Dr. Reider went over the FIVE Way Rotary Test, which included the new TRIVIA Game Test of ….Do Not Use Your Smart Phone.

In the end the LAST Place teame were:
Old Dogs with 10 correct answers
#Us Too with 11 correct answers
Table One with 11 1/2 correct answers
Clueless in Bakersfield with 12 correct answers
 

And the WINNERS are:

Third Place: T’s with 12 1/2 correct answers won Tickets to CALM
Second Place: The Great with 13 correct answers won Stainless Steel Wine Glasses
First Place: The Trivia Tigers with 15 correct answers won Gift Cards to Imbibe
 
“With all humility WE want to thank the Academy for the First Place Awards to Imbibe!”

Who was the "Mad Monk of Russia"? He was an itinerant, a pious figure of faith, a lusty man who liked being washed by girls in the bath houses of czarist Russia. He was, of course, Gregory Rasputin.
Largest fish in the ocean? The Whale Shark.
The only man made object observable from space? The Great Wall of China!
Which country is reputed to have the oldest flag design? Denmark.
What Western peak erupted on May 18, 1980? Mt St. Helens
