Guests: There were several guests who joined the special meeting at the BLVD!
Good news announcements:
Captain Trimmer was excited to report that this year‘s Salvation Army bell ringing broke all previous records. The Downtown Rotary raised over $11,000! The winning team was led by none other than Ben Taft. Ben gave a gracious thank you to all of those on his team except for Jorge Barrientos. (OK – Jorge had an event at his kiddos school, and I am sure that he would have had more fun hanging with that motley crew!) And Captain Trimmer and President Jim both thanked Dave Wheldon for his coordination and support for this historical initiative. Dave makes herding cats look easy!
Justin Salters proudly announced that he and his beautiful wife, Emily, are expecting their third child in June. Congratulations to the Salters family!
Program:
President Jim led us on a trip down memory lane with a table activity where each member recalled their favorite holiday Christmas memory. Nik Boone publicly shared that he received his first cell phone for Christmas at the age of 14 (so essentially a handful of years ago.) We then played a trivia game – holiday edition. Finally, President Jim reiterated yet again the importance of the January 5 meeting and pending exciting announcements for the second half of his historical presidency! It was a wonderful time of fellowship and laughs, and a fantastic way to close out 2022! Cheers!
Mike Willis was supposed to take photos, but was too busy losing in a laser tag game.
