Program
Assemblyman Vince Fong dropped by to give us his views on what's happening in Sacramento. In his view, Californians wanted change, just not very bad, because things will continue to go downhill as long as Newsome is in charge.
Newsome continues to hammer the oil industry with the Windfall Profit Tax. The problem with it is that the government will now decide what a "windfall" is and once doing so- take that profit and redistribute it as they see fit. According to the State, this will help decrease energy prices.
The latest news, despite the State experiencing its own windfall recently, in the near future it will be facing a 25 billion dollar deficit. According to Vince, half of the general fund revenue comes from the taxes of about 144,000 Californians who earn more than 500K or more a year. When those people move out of California to get out from under such high taxes, it will put California in even a bigger bind.
So- put an electric car on your Christmas list, because that will fix everything.
