The Petroleum Club is now accepting take out orders from non-members! When you order, let them know you'd like to have them contribute 10% of your total order to the Waterman Foundation (scholarships primarily). This is a win win, because if their number of daily orders doesn't increase enough by next Thursday then they are going to stop offering dinner for the time being. So you can help the Petroleum Club and contribute to the Waterman Foundation at the same time!
You'll find a menu and everything else ya' need to know!
From the Sundale Pro Shop:
By God’s grace both Pragati and I are doing fine. We are mostly home, except for some essential outings. I miss friends and parties, but we make up with on line chats.
I have been going to the Sundale golf course as you see, looking over the business and playing a bit. Interestingly all the courses in LA and Ventura areas are closed, so people from there are coming to play in Kern County because our courses are open. It is open air, park-like setting and easy social distancing. We observe the PGA guidelines – one person per cart, only take out from the club house, etc. This also gave us opportunity to renovate the club house, which is going on now, and I am spending time in improving the overall condition of the course.
The Hotel business has suffered terribly. We tried to retain the employees but had to let go of several of them. Hopefully we will get PPP and will be able to help those.
Good news? Both of us are healthy. Can’t ask for anything more!

UPDATE:
Sundale Golf Course was ordered to close because they are a "non-essential" business... this according to Governor Newsom, who clearly does not golf.
Ron Eaves checked in and said he was just kickin' back with e-books and wine.
Ken Keller fudged the 6' rule with staff member Michelle for this photo of some oranges Ben Taft donated to the hospital as a way of saying "thanks".

"We have gotten creative with social distancing while trying to care for patients and each other. The use of webex, zoom and other technologies have helped. Shouting at each other from a distance has occurred, but not very often. Unfortunately we have had to severely restrict hospital visitors, entry into the facility, and other ways to reduce “density” of people in order to help in the social distancing concepts."
As reported by Ken Keller.
Diane Duquette from up on high:
"I've been going for a hike twice a day in the mountains where I live with Penny, a standard poodle that I frequently caretake, along with several friends as we practice social distancing!
Also, I've read several books in the last couple of weeks which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Currently, I'm reading my favorite magazine, The Week, as well as "The Dalai Lama's Cat" by David Michie."
