President Kristen rang the bell at the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce building at 12:15pm. Clinton Trimmer was the greeter. Mike McCoy gave the flag salute, Janelle Capra the invocation and Charlie Moe handled the roving mic.

GOOD NEWS
Pres Kristin filling in for absent Ray bragged about the Padres game ending triple play which got them in the playoffs. She also announced the appointment of Vernon Harper as the 6th president of CSUB. Bill Lever has started a book club. Ken said Memorial Hospital’s intern program has been over-subscribed with 1000 applicants. Jason Cater told us the City has received a $12 million park grant.
New Member
A new member was introduced by Juan Bustamonte : Kamal Bhaka with Capstone Partners.
Pres Kristen reminded us about the blood drive next week and the happy hour today at Crash Lounge at 5pm.
PROGRAM
Janelle Capra provided our program- an overview of the Chamber activities. The chamber has 1138 members and serves the greater Bakersfield area and was founded in 1987. Key activities are Leadership Bakersfield with over 1000 graduates, Beautiful Bakersfield founded 35 years ago and since 2021 a Multiple Employer Retirement Plan focused on small employers. The chamber also has a PAC and lobbies for business goals.
Our host, Janelle, treated us to a great presentation, food and cookies, I'm sorry to repay her with this bad photo.
Frugatti's is a bit of an upgrade to Hodel's meatloaf, but I had to take a nap afterwards.
Two layers of cookies. I ate the six of them I palmed on the way out, after I woke up from my nap.
Lizette was supper stoked to find her name badge without help.
