Sonya Christian, President of Bakersfield College, introduced head football Coach Jeff Chudy of Bakersfield College. She also extended an invite to any Rotary members to join her in her President's Box for a game.
Coach Chudy started out with a slide show and update on the Memorial Stadium renovation. Bakersfield now boasts a first-class football field and track.
Coach Chudy used a great analogy for what it's like to run a two-year college football program. He said it's like having 60% of your employes quite every year and having to educate the new recruits all over again.
Fun Fact: Student-athletes at BC have a higher GPA than the average student attending.
Another Fact: 95% of the football players are local.
Last fact: The average attendance is 3,671 per game, the highest in the league. The closest contender is College of the Canyons with 2,671.
