It's been a while since your senior Spoke editor, Mike Willis has actually done any writing, so he's a bit rusty. Please forgive any errors or omissions as he continues to refer to himself in the third person. Enjoy.
Good News & Announcements
We all sang Happy Birthday to Bee Barmann, who is 90 years young.
Sheryl Barbich donated a Cayucos Rotarian mini banner she found at her beach house neighbor's yard sale.
Justin Salters has a new baby. He seems to be sleeping well though.
Quan Louey announced that the District Conference is coming to Bakersfield. Everyone clapped even though they knew they weren't going to go.
Andrae Gonzales announced he is running for Assembly person for the 35th district. So basically Willis won't have anyone to complain to when there's a person sleeping in his flower beds.
President Jim decided to use his stupid prop for the fourth and last time in his presidency. Louis Gill spun the Trivia Wheel and then guessed the question right off the bat. Which temporarily stunned President Jim, so he played all the clues anyway and awarded Louis all of his Bitwise stock.
Michael George shared the capital project grants awarded. $25k to Mission of Kern County, $10k to an Alzheimer's nonprofit, $6,500 to Make A Wish, and $2,000 to Bakersfield Recovery Services. Most of the notes I attempted to enter into Apple Notes were autocorrected to be incomprehensible. So I have no idea where all that money is going.
Jim announced that the Centurian Dinner accidentally brought in $20,000 that will go into the Waterman fund. That's how baller our club is! We ACCIDENTALLY raised money for our club.
Mike Willis received a certificate of "thanks" and a Paul Harris pin. His tears of gratitude quickly dried when he realized about half the club got one too.
