KERN MEDICAL
RUSSELL JUDD, CEO
Garro introduced are speaker today who needed no introduction, Russell Judd. Russell is the CEO for what was formerly KMC Hospital and now Kern Medical a Hospital Authority. No longer just a county run hospital, Judd spoke how Kern Medical is owned and operated by the Hospital Authority. The Authority was formed back in 2015 which took control from County of Kern and the Board of Supervisors.
On any given day there are 150 residents and 180 medical students on the grounds. KM operates an academic medical center. Incredible training opportunities for medical students since it has a very busy trauma center.
Improving the back end on the business side, billing customers for services performed and collections has changed the performance of the facility and turned around it’s whole financial structure.
Fantastic job Russell on saving the hospital and showing how the operations were improved upon and made more efficient and cost effective!
