The off-site meeting was held at Bakersfield Country Club with Jeff Chandler leading the invocation; Joe Hay led the pledge and Signee Hoffman led the song, God Bless America a cappella.
The BMOA was having an opening that night and didn't want Rotarians in the way. Guests: Mike Mares, Cal Water District Manager (from Hawaii) was a guest of Beth Pandol and Winn Easton had his daughter Leia as his guest.
Tracy Kaiser lead the program which consisted of trivia questions about Kern County history. (Did you know that Buck Owens' real name was Alvis?) Each table vied for a box of Dewar's chews. Of course the "old guys" table won.
