A Day of Giving Back to the Community One of the purposes of the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens is to give back to the community. Our funds are raised through the Corks & Kegs fundraiser in April and the AquaFest-Viking Duck Dash in late July. In the first picture, Jerry Stumbaugh, Secretary of the Senior Center received a check in the amount of $1,000 from President Randy Celori. In the second picture, Jesi Griffin and Sarah Taylor from Sherwood Community Services received a check in the amount of $1,000 from President Randy Celori. In the third picture from (l) to (r) President Randy Celori, Loren Hole, Karen Tadio, Anita Caffee, Tammy Enders, Ken Collins and incoming President Kevin O'Brien participate in the check presentation to Hungry Hearts. Loren Hole presented a check in the amount of $4,000 from the Hole Rotary Foundation Endowment to Hungry Hearts. The Hole Endowment funds will pay for the purchase of a new refrigerator and freezer at their new location. Also, during our Corks and Keys fundraiser in April, Club auctioneer Ken Collins, on behalf of the Club's Fund A Cause, raised $10,000 for Hungry Hearts. The Family Center was unavailable for our presentation but will be receiving $1,000. Each year, fundraisers provide sufficient funding to donate scholarships to Lake Stevens High School seniors and to the community organizations listed in this article and more. This year was a record year for high school scholarships and for community non-profits. Each year is different and the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens looks forward to improving on what we contribute to these organizations with the highly successful fundraisers.
