This Week's Meeting
The featured speaker at this week's meeting is Amber Nelson, the ringleader at Lingo Consulting, Inc., a marketing, communications and strategy company based in La CaƱada Flintridge, CA. She will share ideas on how organizations can use a variety of techniques to promote themselves.

Several of our Cub Scouts are attending Resident Camp this week at nearby Camp Edward. We'll have more on this and a report from the group of Scouts that went to Cub Scout Day Camp late last month. Also, look for our Scouts leading the Children's Parade at Aquafest next week!

Members - Honors and Awards
Reshal Ploeger, Rotarian of the Year for 2017-18 and Laurie Westover, receiving her Paul Harris certificate and pin from Jim Haugen, Chair of the Club Foundation.
Rotarian of the Year: Each year, the Club president selects the Rotarian of the Year. This year, Randy Celori, President of the Club for 2017-18 announced at the Annual Meeting and Installation Banquet that Reshal Ploeger had been awarded the Rotarian of the Year for her outstanding efforts the past year.
 
Laurie Westover achieved the Paul Harris award by contributing $1,000 to the Rotary International Foundation. Every time a Rotary member donates $1,000,  the member achieves another Paul Harris award. Congratulations to both of our members. Laurie is currently the President-Elect.

Viking Duck Dash challenge
Any you thought you were having a fun day!!!!  Way to cool!
Nothing like a Viking preparing for our annual Duck Dash event at AquaFest. This year will be exciting and extremely different than past years. Viking boats descending on the beach at North Cove....WOW!!! Watch out, where oh where are the AquaFest Royalty??? Where are the ducks?  More to come. Super cool, super fun and way, way to elegant.

Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am. There is a robust continental breakfast available beforehand. Visitors are always welcome.
