Stephanie Sherry, Director and Chris Jacobson, Board Member gave an update on the Food Bank operations and the New Building status. The Food Bank has more than doubled their service from 16,000 to 28,000 people this year. They are serving the needs of the community from four locations and all are Drive Through operations. - Tuesday from 5:30pm-6:30pm drive through is at the Assemblies of God Church
- Wednesday from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Calvary Chapel Church
- Thursday from 1:30pm-6:00pm at Ebenezer Lutheran Church
- Saturday from 10am to 2pm at the Lake Church
A brief video showing Anne Anderson, former Director of the Food Bank, was part of the program. Business is booming at these sites. Flow of traffic is important. Sherwood Community Services assist with deliveries to over 60 families on Wednesday. All of the local schools and school district facilities have conducted Food Drives for the Lake Stevens Food Bank. Jim Scott, designed a menu system to customize a box for each family. The biggest challenge is needing the new building. Chris Jacobson, our own Club member, commented on the amazing work being done by Stephanie and Georgia as well as all of the volunteers. The community has really pulled together. They are reaching people of all financial spheres. |
