Rotary Club Membership
At our Meeting on February 9th, Rob Prosch, District 5050 Membership Chair, talked about membership in Rotary. He is very excited to hear about our explosive growth over the past twelve months. We have added 9 new members since January 2017. A 25+% percent growth rate. More importantly we have retained all of these members. Rotary in general is losing members. District 5050, however, is seeing an increase in membership.

He asked what kind of activities our Club has. He knew about the upcoming fundraiser. Community Services Chair Tracy DeLorm added that we serve at the Community Supper. "Do we have social events?" Rob asked. No we don't was the collective response.

Rob wanted us to understand that people join Rotary for one prime reason and that is the social aspect of getting to know people. They stay in Rotary for that reason. He encouraged us to begin having social events at least quarterly. More importantly though, is to invite prospective members to those events. He added that we should also invite prospective members to our Community Service activities. When asked, several members said they would invite people to help out at the Community Supper.

Thank you,Rob, for visiting with us. You gave us things to think about regarding our Club.

Thought of the Week - Who Said It?
"I think kindness is my number one attribute in a human being. I'll put it before any of the things like courage or bravery or generosity or anything else...Kindness - that simple word. To be kind -it covers everything, to my mind. If you're kind, that's it."
