Project benefits include improved mobility involving traffic flow, trip reliability, freight movement and safety. The biggest gain and of interest to the Lake Stevens community will be for improved access to local businesses--primarily Frontier Village. Also, there will be more choices for travel options by improving transportation connections for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders and drivers. The WSDOT team was looking for feedback and comments especially involving access to Frontier Village. Construction should begin in 2018-19 and be finished in 2020. After conducting several workshops with stakeholders, the project team developed five design concepts. Click here to see the five designs. The next step is a meeting with the Stakeholders Advisory committee. On May 11th, WSDOT will host a second open house to take public comment on the design concepts. The Stakeholders Advisory Group continues to meet to review design options. The Stakeholders Advisory Group consist of representatives from the city, county, businesses and regional representatives to review the options.
