Days for Girls
Carol Hendricks,  Director of the Snoqualmie Chapter of  Days for Girls and Jennifer Barthels address the Club this past Friday, April 19th. Last month, the Club heard from another Days for Girls member. Each share a different perspective on the Global work of Days for Girls. Recently, their trip to Eswatini a local woman named Lindiwe found the organization and has since taken over the local organization to create a more stable and sustainable chapter. Local leadership is always the goal of Days for Girls and the best way to obtain success locally.
In May 2017, following a four day Enterprise training session, the local Eswatini leadership was established. In November 2017, ambassadors of women's health trained local women to sew and now have their own sewing teams that used to be done by Carol and Jennifer. The women who are sewing now are receiving an income. As a result, more and more distributions are being made to women and girls. Role models are being established at the local level.

Debbie Bodal and Janet Leister,  Rotary Club of Lynnwood were present looking for support of a Global RI grant they are preparing.  Tracy DeLorm, International Committee chair visited with our guest and is preparing a recommendation to the Board this month.

Easter Egg Hunt-Lundeen Park
Reshal Ploeger and her son Hayden pictured during the clean up phase of the Easter Egg hunt at Lundeen Park on Saturday, April 20th. Over 6,000 eggs were scooped up in under five minutes by the large throng of kids that came to this hunt. Next year, the goal of the sponsors is to raise the number of eggs from 6,000 to 16,000. I guess we will have to wait until next year to see how that works out. Great city-wide event with Rotarians Jim Haugen, Scott Smith, Gary O'Rielly, Reshal, Hayden and Rylie Ploeger helping out. Great fun was had by all including the fish tank exhibit.
