This Week's Meeting
Continuing with our Members making presentations, Ron Rasmussen will give us an update about changes in CPR protocols and how we as the general public can help someone in cardiac arrest. Ron is the Proprietor of First Responders First Aid & CPR. He has many years of service with Lake Stevens Fire and was for many years a paramedic, trained at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, where CPR protocols that are a standard nationwide were first developed back in the 1970's.

Thank you to those that have signed up to sponsor the weekly breakfast. Please look ahead to January and beyond to sign up for a meeting. Partnering with another member can help. Contact Club Services Chair Jim Haugen for more information.

Club Orientation
Ron Rasmussen, Chair of the Membership Committee and Jim Steinruck along with Gary O'Rielly (not pictured) lead the discussion and presentation of a Club Orientation session at our weekly Friday morning meeting November 1st.
The overview and presentation outlined the history of Rotary International and our own Club history. The purpose of the Orientation session is to educate our members on the purpose of Rotary International and each Club members' participation in our activities.  Each member present received a copy of Rotary Basics. Copies are available for all members and will be given out each week until everyone has their own.

Basic information included when and where Rotary International was founded along with the names of the four founding members. The history behind the Four Way Test and the deployment of the Rotary Foundation. And, of course, when our Club was founded and the name of our Founding Members like Joyce Bell, Kathy Huber and Terri Spencer. RI has made a major difference in the world through its campaign to eradicate polio and provide clean water for third world developing countries as well as other major projects and campaigns.

A big thank you to Jim Haugen for developing the Power Point presentation and to Ron Rasmussen for adding pictures and highlights of our activities over the past year.
