May 19th we are meeting at the Buzz Inn. Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am. There is a robust continental breakfast available beforehand. Visitors are always welcome. Our mailing address is PO Box 908 Lake Stevens, WA 98258.

This Week's Meeting
Our program this week will be a presentation by the Honorable Millie Judge who will talk about the Youth Drug Court program at the Denney Youth Center. We are meeting at the Buzz Inn in downtown Lake Stevens.
 
We have several activities and projects coming up. See the article below for more information.

Pack 88 Hold Bike Rodeo
Our Cub Scout Pack hosted a bike rodeo this week at their regular weekly meeting. They had a great turnout despite the cold wet weather. Riders learned skills to help them be safe when on their bicycles.
 
Chief of Police, John Dyer
The guest of Kevin O'Brien was asked to give an impromptu talk about the Lake Stevens Police Department. John Dyer, the new Chief of the Lake Stevens Police Department acknowledged that the toughest issues right now are the two officers involved shootings and the death of a young student. Dyer is currently rebuilding the Police Department.
 
The department has a new Commander. Jeff Bezos from the State Patrol will be involved in Emergency Management. The Chief commented on the huge cooperation within the Lake Stevens community, the state and federal partnership and the relationship with Kevin O'Brien, Chief of Lake Stevens Fire. The Family Center is backing out of the National Night Out and Halloween. The Police Department will sponsor Halloween and National Night Out will return to its original roots. Recently, a 1964 Ford Fairlaine Police Car was donated to the Police Department by a local citizen. Right now, the Chief and his staff are working on the new Police Department to be located on Chapel Hill. He did mentioned the on-going traffic issues around the community.

Several projects were listed at the meeting and will be put on our website. They are:
 
May 17th - 6:00pm - Painting Lundeen Park concession stand.
May 17th - 2:15pm - Interact Club meeting. Room 104
May 18th - 6:00pm - Storage Unit clean up.
May 19th - 9:00am - Scholarship interviews - 2 teams
June 10th- 9:00am - Park clean up. meet at Lundeen Park in the picnic area.
Oct.  19th - 5:00pm - Community Supper
 
Since they are all within the next few weeks, thought it best to put it in the form of an outline.
