Our other featured program last week was Patick Pierce, President/CEO of Economic Alliance Snohomish County. Five years ago, Economic Alliance Snohomish County was created with the merger of Everett Chamber of Commerce and the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce. Their strategic goals are simple: market the region, attract new investments, improve the quality of the county, respond to employee needs, connect regional leaders and engage the broader community.
The Alliance is governed by a Board of Trustees working together to accomplish the strategic goals. Some of the major projects includes the S.T.E.M. network and transportation projects on Hwy 9 and Hwy 204. The Alliance has a strong military affairs affiliation and recently appeared at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. where they made a big impact supporting Naval Station Everett. Military brass assured the Alliance group that the base isn't going anywhere but forward with the destroyer USS Gridley coming to Everett in late June and more to follow. Snohomish County and the greater Everett area have been deemed the top region for military personnel and the area has the second largest number of technology jobs.
The goal is to speak with one voice. Patrick Pierce is an accomplished economic development professional with over a decade of experience leading successful teams. Prior to joining the Alliance, Pierce was the Economic Development Program Manager for the Puget Sound Regional Council and serve as public policy director for the Alliance and Government Affairs Manager for the Everett Chamber of Commerce. Pierce lives in North Creek with his wife and two young daughters.
