Tricia Sharp and her husband Mike Hendon are members of the Fidalgo Island Rotary Club of Anacortes. They were are guest speakers on Friday, May 24th talking about the ShelterBox disaster relief charity and their work with Rotary International as our District 5050 representatives. Pictured above are some of the supplies given to disaster victims.
ShelterBox is a global disaster relief charity that provides immediate emergency shelter and other lifesaving aid to survivors of a disaster or humanitarian crisis. Their signature ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits contain the tools to transform lives and rebuild communities. ShelterBox aid is tailored to each disaster and typically includes tented shelter, blankets and groundsheets, solar lights, cooking utensils, water purification equipment, a tool kit, mosquito nets and children's activity packs as shown in the pictures 
 
ShelterBox and Rotary International collaborated over three years ago. ShelterBox is a non-government organization and does not receive funding from any government entity. Funding is received from individuals and organizations, including Rotary Clubs, service and community groups, schools, faith-based organizations, businesses and foundations. ShelterBox has no political or religious affiliation.
